Walking Meditation with Deborah Riley of Sarasota Mindfulness Institute
Thursday, May 19, 2022, 10 am

$5 registration fee

Take a guided meditative walk around the Bay with instructor Deborah Riley of Sarasota Mindfulness Institute. Starting at our Sculpture Garden, this walk encompasses beauty in art, nature, and mindful meditation. Coffee and donuts will be provided upon return to the Art Center.

About Deborah Riley, PhD
Deborah has been practicing yoga for more than 10 years and was introduced to mindfulness five years ago when she moved to Florida. She has found mindfulness practice to be life changing as it brings healing to the heart, mind, and body. She embraces the teachings that help us live from the heart with compassion and wisdom, building a happier, more peaceful world.

Deborah is a practitioner of continuous learning. She regularly leads the meditations and book reviews at the Sarasota Mindfulness Institute (SMI) Friday sessions and she is also an active participant. She is currently leading programs in mindfulness meditation at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital as well as at the Art Center, Sarasota. She has completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR), Mindful Eating Program and the class 'Are you paying Attention?', a series of talks and interactive exercises from SMI member Carl Eisen, largely based on the work of Professor and Director of Contemplative Neuroscience Dr. Amish Jha of the University of Miami and her recent book 'Peak Mind'. Deborah is currently learning about Mindfulness Based Movement practices, and she is also a member of Kadampa Meditation Center, Florida.

Deborah is a biologist, loves nature, family and friends, and to be beside the seaside!
