MEET LINDA FINNERTY
It is intuitive for me to interpret, study and create art with “eyes wide open” continuously exploring various subjects and styles. My personal journey is one of discovery, rediscovery and perpetual growth. The feel of paint, the sensation of color and the puzzlement of infinite composition launch me into a number of expressive directions. Oil, acrylic, and mixed media carry my voice on to canvas. My work is a combination of studied, deliberate strokes combined with spontaneous impressions carried by emotion. Color often saturates shapes and shapes create time and space. Brush movement and varied strokes create energy and direction.
Whether my piece leans towards realism, impressionism or abstraction, the common thread is an authentic connection to the subject with an intense outpouring of spontaneous thought and feeling. I strongly feel my work is most successful when it sings with spirit and creates a spark of relatedness or imagination in others.
